Compared to national
averages, Schertz’s crime index is relatively low.
The Schertz Police Department provides community oriented
law enforcement by utilizing the teamwork of a professionally
trained staff. The department is committed to the prevention
of crime, protection of life and property while remaining
sensitive and impartial to the citizens within the community.
The department fulfills its mission through professional
services, as well as a focus on special projects. The Special
Projects Office is charged with providing crime prevention
and safety resources to the community through programs,
presentations, and information. The office also serves
as a communication source to the community in addressing
crime and safety concerns and the development of new and
innovative crime prevention and safety initiatives for
the community. Some of these initiatives include:
