The Schertz Fire Department has joined forces with area residents to help cool things off all summer long! Through August 31, Schertz fire stations are collecting and distributing electric box fans to help elderly citizens who may suffer most from high summer temperatures.
Residents who want to cool things off in Schertz can donate new box fans at either Fire Station #1 located at 1400 Schertz Parkway or Fire Station #2 at 19085 IH35 North. Fans will be distributed to eligible clients in Schertz, including Bexar, Comal, and Guadalupe County’s. Eligible recipients must be least 60 years old.
Interested parties should call 311 or 619-1301 if they would like to request a fan or if they would like to donate fans or need additional information. The program runs through August 31, 2009. So, be cool and donate a fan today!
