There was no bright side that could have been imagined right after the Lakewood Acres subdivision was destroyed in the 1998 flood along Cibolo Creek. Eleven years later, a partnership between the City of Schertz and Bexar County has transformed what was once a place where people lost so much into an area where friends and families can spend time together.
On September 18, the 175-acre Crescent Bend Nature Park in Eastern Bexar County will official open to the community after two years of land buyouts, identifying funding sources, and construction. Now, Schertz residents can enjoy a number of recreational activities such as camping, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and horseback riding. Please join Bexar County Commissioner Tommy Adkisson ‐ Commissioner Pct. 4, and the City of Schertz for the Grand Opening of Crescent Bend Nature Park at 12:30 PM Friday, September 18, 2009 Intersection of Cibolo Creek at Schaefer Road, Schertz, TX 78108 DIRECTIONS from SCHERTZ CITY HALL
