Christmas is creeping up on you! If you need an inexpensive gift for the teacher, clergyman, mailman, relative (close or distant), office worker, neighbor, or special person on your list, remember that the READ BEFORE BOOKSTORE is at your service in the Schertz Public Library.
Our annual Christmas Booksale begins on December 1st and runs through December 23rd. It is held in the READ BEFORE BOOKSTORE just inside the Schertz Public Library. Many items that pertain to Christmas have been set aside for this sale. In addition, you will find new, clean, gently used books, CD’s, DVD’s, magazines and children’s books available for this annual sale.
The READ BEFORE BOOKSTORE hours are as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11 AM to 5 PM; Tuesday from 11 AM to 7 PM; and Saturday from Noon to 5 PM. On Sunday we are closed.
Donations of clean, odor free, gently used library items are always welcome at the READ BEFORE BOOKSTORE. These items are screened in the workroom for use in the new library. Copies that are needed there are processed for the library shelves in the library staff workroom. We treasure your donations and thank you for them. Remember to ask for a tax receipt from our staff if they don’t remember to remind you. We ask that you remember us when you plan to relinquish your library items.
Reasonable pricing is always the norm at the bookstore sales. Recent hardcover books by popular authors are priced at $2.00 each. Book club editions are $1.00 each. Other books are priced by the inch---50¢ an inch for hardcover books and 25¢ an inch for paperback books. That means your books are placed in a pile and the pile is measured by the inch. Older books are researched against several library sources and a reasonable price is affixed to them.
New gifts for the discerning bibliophile on your list include pencils, notepaper, kickballs, magnetic book marks, magnetic pencil holders, magnetic tablets, book wall clocks, and square pencil boxes made from scrap wood left from the building of the new Schertz Public Library.
Remember to shop at the READ BEFORE BOOKSTORE in the Schertz Public Library when you are perusing your Christmas list! |
