The City of Schertz is joining forces with the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) and hundreds of law enforcement agencies throughout the region and state to launch a massive statewide SPEED WAVE effort aimed at slowing down speeding motorists. The goal of the Speed Wave is to have law enforcement agencies work together to decrease crashes, injuries, and fatalities and to raise awareness about one fact: If You Speed, You'll Get a Ticket!
To achieve its goals, the Texas Speed Wave mobilization combines a concerted local and statewide media campaign with additional law enforcement activities to reinforce the message. As part of the campaign, Schertz was awarded a grant of $35,193.50 from TxDOT for a year long Selective Traffic Enhancement Program (S.T.E.P.) for speed enforcement during selected times throughout 2010. Spring Break 2010 is the next scheduled enforcement date to start on March 13, 2010 and to end March 21, 2010. Schertz officers will be out during these dates and working with other local law enforcement personnel to try to keep Spring Break safe for everyone.
Remember If You Speed, You'll Get a Ticket!
Brought to you by the Schertz Police Department and the Texas Department of Transportation.
