Event Facilities Coordinator


The Public Affairs Department has an opening for a full-time exempt Event Facilities Coordinator position.  Serves as an account manager for the Public Affairs Office. Coordinates use of the Schertz Civic, Community and North Center Event Facilities. Responsible for event reservations, contractual agreements and coordinating maintenance of facilities. Provides information and performs facility tours for potential customers. Manages upcoming events, works closely with Facilities Maintenance personnel regarding City sponsored and private revenue generating events to ensure logistics for each event are executed properly for customer’s wants and needs. Assists Schertz Tales Account Manager with marketing and ad placement.  May supervise assigned staff.

Requires:  Ability to deal with the public; Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction; Knowledgable of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources; Ability to manage own time and the time of others; Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time; Ability to use Microsoft Office suite, email, internet; Minimum of two (2) years experience in planning and implementing special events and recreational programs; Valid Class “C” Texas driver’s license; Texas High School Diploma or GED equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Bilingual preferred.

Salary is $40,868 annual, which includes an excellent benefit package to include Health, Dental and Life Insurance programs.

A pre-employment medical exam and drug test is required if a tentative offer of employment is made.
