Internal Affairs

The Internal Affairs Unit for the Schertz Police Department is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Department. The integrity is maintained through an internal system where objectivity, fairness, and justice are assured by the impartial investigation and review of all allegations of members misconduct and accusations against the department. Normal functions of the Internal Affairs Unit include but are not limited to recording, registering and controlling the investigation of complaints against members; supervising and controlling the investigation of alleged or suspected misconduct within the Department; and forwarding the findings to the appropriate office. The Internal Affairs Unit reports directly to the Chief of Police.
